Question Gear Installation Question (Superior 5.13)

Hello everyone,

I would appreciate any knowledgeable input I can get on this subject.

Here is my current setup:
2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X
35" Mickey Thompson Tires
6 Speed Manual Transmission
3.21 Stock Gears

Here is what I ordered:
5.13 Superior Gears for Dana 30
5.13 Superior Gears for Dana 44
Installation kit for each of above (not overhaul)
Aussie Locker for Dana 30
Replacement carrier 3.73 and up for Dana 30

Here is where I'm somewhat confused. I've read dozens of posts talking about gears and lockers, etc... Several people have mentioned needing a new front carrier if going higher than 3.73, when you have the stock 3.21. Okay, I'm fine with that and ordered the carrier.

Now, does the Dana 44 rear require a new carrier to accommodate the 5.13 gears or is that a different situation?

I appreciate the help and would love it if people with specific knowledge and experience could chime in.

Thanx,
Sean

The rear does not require a new carrier.

Which Aussie did you get?

i am currently installing 5.13 yukon gears in mine and started on the front dana 30 yesterday. Now, as far as a carrier, my ring gear bolted up just fine to the original and everything seems to be going well.
