Default Gear & Locker Gurus

I got 5.13's installed with a Lock- Right frt auto locker. Is it normal to have a dry bearing type of sound. It's not that loud and I've driven over 100 miles today. Figured if it was a bearing it would have blown by now. Input? Redneck Jeep, where are you?

Had my windows down on the way home, honestly , I can't tell if it's the frt or rear. Will call the shop in the morning. I heard it when I closed all windows .

Noise is bad. There is no break in noise. Something is wrong...hopefully a gearhead here can provide better info. I would not drive it until you get it checked.

Just don't drive it until you call the shop first. Tell them you have a noise and ask them if they want you to drive it to the shop. Gears are a very complex task and if not done exactly right, it's easy to have a complete failure. call first, let the shop decide what you need to do. I would not drive it.

Dad's only go so far. If he's a good dad, he will let you sit in jail. A level head and polite atttitude will go much farther than anger. If the shop screws you after you showed respect and understanding, then kick their ass and go to jail...don't throw the wild card from the start.

Oh , I know, just venting, he has let me sit in jail a few days.
I know in my gut something is wrong, guess I'm riding the Harley tomorrow, damn it's raining. Dammit, knew this was gonna happen. And those 5.13 make my 35's feel sooo much better.Still wanna kick an ass though. I went with the best shop also, 50 minutes away, dunno, seems like if I don't do things myself, it get's f'd up. BTW my rear diff was !/2 quart low go figure. Yeah, they're gonna get a mouthfull tomorrow.

Relax buddy...if you went to the best shop, they will take care of you. Just call them before you drive it...the respect goes both ways.

If they are a respectable shop, they will take good care of you. It may be nothing, but if not, let the shop decide what is best to get you taken care of.

Mistakes happen, they are human. The important thing is not the temporary inconvenience, but more the end result. Let the shop take care of the mistake...you will be in your jeep with a smile by mid week and all is forgotten.

I am sure somewhere in the setup, something went wrong. I doubt the locker itself is bad. It's probably a bad bearing. Let us know...it may be nothing.
