Default Gear and locker help.

I'm looking to regear. I have a 12' sport 4 door with auto trans. Don't plan on going with anything bigger than what's on it, which I 35s so I was thinking 4.56 should be perfect. I was more curious of what the best prices are for a good set of gears(Yukon, etc..) and master installs.

Also, what lockers would I want. I like the function of an e locker over the air lockers. What's the best for the money in your opinion? Still rocking a d30 up front. Should I not lock it or lock it and truss and gusset it? Don't wheel that hard, but the extra traction is always useful. I don't want anything that pops and makes racket. Lol

A pair of Truetracs. Gusset the front. Truss or sleeves, judgement call depending on your budget and use. Add it all up and see if you might not be better off with one of the rubi44's from the ebay seller.

Prices, check with a few of the sites vendors. 4WS, Northridge, Marcus at River City Offroad has been getting good feedback, etc.

If you decide you want to pay for selectables, Eaton e-lockers are popular. Or Yukon Zip Lockers will be cheaper, and have a great warranty, but may be a somewhat weaker design.

I'll say what I usually say. For the cost of gears, lockers, and install, you can buy a set of Rubicon axles. Then, sell your axles for around $1000-$1200. You end up about $1000 ahead and now have a D44 up front.

Then I'll still have to regear? Are you saying use the $1000 left over to snag some gears?

If I choose to just find rubicon axles, what do I do about wiring the factory lockers? I've read and read and all I can come up with is they can't just be wired to a switch and it's complicated. What gives?

Where did you read that? There are quite a few threads about wiring to a switch, read through a few and see which setup works for you.
