Default Gearing on 37"

I'm installing the Full Traction 4" lift and feel that I should change out the gearing at the same time. Any suggestions as to what I should change it too? Currently I have the 4:1 that come with the Rubicon package.

Ummm, you have a Full Traction 4" lift?? How did you manage to get one especially since to the best of my knowledge they haven't been released?

Also, whatever happend to the 4.5" RE Long Arm kit you were putting on back in February that was, and I quote "the right choice by the way"?

Please don't misunderstand me or my questions, I'm just sincerely curious.

I was actually going in to order the lift shortly after posting that message. at that point FT did not have one they were even talking about (to the best of my knowledge) after talking with a couple of the 4x4 shops around northern Colorado, they all suggested waiting for the FT lift. They had installed both and though the "FT is a more solidly built lift" they had no complaints about the RE lift, in fact no one tried to talk me out of it, just mentioned that I check out the FT.

You are also correct that they have not been released. Release date is currently set for early May.

No misunderstanding, no problem.

Ah, got it - thanks for the clarification

Going back to your original question, 5.13's all the way!

5.13's are the only choice, but if you have an automatice you might want to wait until the 5.38's come out. Yes, I do have most of my power back, but it still seem to be lacking on the freeway and wants to bog down on even the slightest overpass or hill.

True. But is it safe to assume you have an auto? IMHO, 5.13's would be more than adequate with a 6-speed. But then... I guess I am running 5.13's with my 6-speed and 35's and love the all the extra power I have

To do the job right is very difficult, requires specilized tools and a good amount of experience. As much as I'd like to think I know about Jeeps, gears is something I leave to a good shop.

Yes I do have an auto. I believe it is due more to the engine torque band than gearing itself. I just dont think the V-6 has enough low end torque to push 37's with the auto even with the 5.13's. Do not get me wrong. It is night and day difference from the 4.10's and is totally liveable, I just want a little more
