Default Gearing Question

Currently my JKU consists of a 4 in suspension lift, 35 in tires, with a 6 speed manual transmission. The rig came stock w/ the 3.23 gear ratio with a D35 front and D44 rear axel. What do y'all think would be the best gearing to go with for a daily driver with the occasional weekend offroading when can sneer away from the wife? Any recommendations would be appreciated

I *think* most will say 4.88 or 5.13, However I'd say 4.56 for MPG on HWY

Do you know what the cost would be to install the 4.56, because I would want to have the gears with the best mpg, and would theses gears help or hurt my city mileage? Thanks alot

I completely agree on the 4.56 gears especially if don't plan on going any bigger than the 35's and your Jeep is not a 2012. I'm in a 2009 with 35's and I can say 4.88's are nice off road, but 4.56's would definitely be a better match for on road performance. As far as cost anywhere from $1000 to $1400, it's a matter of checking around though...

Good deal, thanks for your input, really has helped me to decide on going with the 4.56's. So do you know if they will hurt my city mileage or not?

For a shop here where I live, they quoted me $2,473 for parts and labor, Isn't too bad I'd say.

Interesting, Looking here at the sheet they gave me, they included "Yukon Master Overhaul kit" for both of the axles, are they needed? Have less than 10k on the axles.

Sorry JK-Nate ! Didn't mean to hi-jack your thread!
