4.56 will be ok, but if you ever go bigger, you'll wish you'd got 4.88

Sorry JK-Nate ! Didn't mean to hi-jack your thread!
I'm pretty sure you just need a master overhaul kit for the front axel.. Not the rear. But I'm not the best with gears. Got a lot more to read about them, so I'm not the beat person to ask :p but what I do know is that the quote you got is way way over priced..

Yes $2,473 is high. Here in Washington Northridfge 4x4 often runs specials to re-gear for $1,000 parts and labor. I availed myself of this. I've also seen Offroad Evolution offer do the same $1,000 deal in SoCal.

Northridge sells a kit that includes gears front and rear and both master rebuild kits for like 550 shipped. Labor should be around 2-300 an axle. I've called about 8 shops and most were around there for labor.

It's weird cause i thought front axel would be a D 30 as well but when I called Chrysler they said that the front axel was indeed a D 35 so I dunno. And I may actually go down to 33 after these tires are worn out; would the 4.56 be good for 33's as well?

With 4.56's and 33's you'll be back in the position of it being over-geared for the tires, kinda like how 4.88's are for 35's in a real world on the road setting which is what you were more interested in correct? I'm definitely in the higher RPM band which eats up gas mileage when highway driving, but just fine crawling off road...

Chilllicothe, Ohio with some twisties through rolling hills I would err towards the steeper side.

That said, I think 4.56s would work well for you with 33s.
