Default Gears for a 2011 JK wrangler

JK friends,

I have been searching and doing my homework on 513 gears for my JK.
My jeep is 2011 rubicon wrangler and I added 3.5 lift with 35 inch tires.

I'm on the fence which gear manufacture to use:

Surpeme
Yukon
Motive

If anyone has any insight of what they used. Pros and Cons.

I want to get my power back to factory specs.

Thanks for the help....

I replaced my gearing last week couldnt be happier. . .As far as Brands ; You will read a lot about Yukon , American $%Q#$ , G2 . . The shop I went to has experience with these G2 . . they said they are reinforced steel. . whatever. My JK runs great at last, I can go up to 60 mph highway no problem. Did Mine to 5.13

Good Luck with Your Gear change.

Yukon gears made in u.s.a I use them in every rear that I've built. I use Randy's ring and pinion has everything you need.but shop around.

Default G2

I put the G2 5.13s in my 2010 JKU with 35" tires and a 3.5 Rock Krawler lift. I get great acceleration (for the 3.8l) around town and I hit 2500 rpm on the highway around 70mph. I can typically cruise at 75, assuming flat and smooth highway surfaces, between 2500-2800 rpm. Not great for gas, but sometimes you don't have all day to get somewhere... I got mine done at 4 Wheel Parts in Charlotte. They recommended G2 because thats what their service manager (the only one who is allowed to do gears) has the most experience with. It seems like personal experience weighs heavily on your choice. So pick your shop first and see what they like, or pick a couple brands that you think are best and then see what the shop feels comfortable with... Unless you're doing it yourself of course...

Mike

You raise very good and legitimate points. I tried to have my local dealer recalibrate mine after the work was done, however they claim to be unable to calibrate for 5.13's. They said they did the best they could by plugging in the smallest tire size they could... After matching up with my wife in her Subaru, it is about 10-12mph off at highway speeds (my speedo said 65, hers said 78ish). So it's not very close at high speeds. Fortunately, before I move and drive to Peoria, Illinois next week, I will have a Procal, thanks to Northridge 4x4. It's a ~750 mile drive, so I'll be able to give more accurate numbers on the 35" tires with the 5.13, as far as mileage is concerned on a long trip. I will have it programmed for appropriate mods before making the drive (told my wife it NEEDED to be done before we can take my car, haha).

Please PM me as a reminder if you would like the mileage info I get.

I know little about gears. If with stock gears I'm running 2000 rpm @ 70, will the rpm's be lower @ 70 with 35's with stock gears? Is this one reason a regear is necessary?
