Default Gears

So I got 5:13s installed about a year and a half ago, well the shop that installed them ( here in Vegas) didn't install them correctly and now they're shot and need to be replaced!! So if you're planning on doing gears any time soon take them to a PROFESSIONAL and make sure they're done right!!

Sorry to hear about it; that sucks! What all happened, did they disintegrate?

this is what worries me about my gear swap. although my shop only does gear work exclusively, they only offer 1 year warranty of workmanship. soooo after one year I'm on my own too. but their reputation is excellent and my 4 re-geared work trucks all run great, 4+ years later too. sorry to hear about this, thats tough and stressful I'm sure

For that reason I took mine to Off Road Evolution. I don't think EVO is going anywhere soon and they appear to be professional. :-)

It was noticed when another shop ( that has been in business for 35 years) was installing my driveshafts, the pinion bearing was shot, they took the rear end apart and found out all the bearings are shot and the gears weren't on pattern. They said there was also an excessive amount of shims in there too. I'm glad the problem was caught before the rear end seized or gears exploded.

I was actually thinking about taking it to EVO when I was having it installed the first time. It was just the drive out there. And breaking them in coming back i was concerned about.
