Question gears for thought

After perusing the net many cats and talking and reading the wonderful and informative posts on here I come to a difficult decision that needs to be made. For the majority I know what I will be getting for my make over on my JK. however doing all the research and picking my brain I have become what you would call not interested in looking at another part for the JK. By no means have I lost the interest of it I am just plain tired of all the parts there are for it and which ones are the best which ones will do this or that. For someone that deals with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing vehicles all day and then to sit down in front of another computer just to look up more parts for your own can become very monotonous and just plain BORING. I have all these plans to order atleast well over 10 grand of different parts and mods upgrades and really cool stuff. Well since I have gone off track and now back on track to get to the point. I plan on wearing 35" tires left to be decided on between three types, and new gears. The Gears are what I am having the problem with on deciding. I have an Auto 2 door Saharah. It is going to have the 4" FT long arm suspension w/Rubicon or Ranchero remote res shocks. As for the Gears I am not sure who to go with or what size. I have heard 4.83's are good and 5.13s are excelent but keep in mind that I do have the AUTO tranny and would like to keep my RPM's in the mid to low 2 grand at highway speeds with out the OD kicking in and out all the time. Wow after looking at what all I wrote it is pretty lengthy LOL well anyways if anyone has any suggestions as to what gears I should run with lemme know and yes they will have ARB's front and rear.

with 5.13's and 35's you will be tacking 2039rpm at 60 mph in OD.

The auto has a .69 to 1 over drive, while the 6 speed is only .84 to 1

with 4.88 it will be 1940 @ 60

with 4.56 it will be 1812 @ 60

my .02

I have a 2dr X with 37's and 5.13s
It rides great. But for highway, I think even with 37's the 4.88's would be fine. So with 35's and your highway thoughts, I would go either 4.56 or 4.88's depending on your other interests. Like towing or crawling/ mud, etc.

I am sure you will get plenty of opinions. And Superior Gears btw.

Best wishes in your decisions.

Bill

Like the as soon as comment so true.... But thanx I was thinking the 4.88's but as for some rock crawling and some muddin is what I would like to do I have been to Uwharrie several times and there is only one trail I have yet to go on I may hike it once just to see how Gnarly some make it out to be. But with 35"s 4"FT long arm 4.88's and ARB frnt and rear lockers should be a good setup?

Living in Florida... not many hills, it's really flat. I have 37's and have zero problems with acceleration. I think the top end might suffer a little, but I dont go over 80 on the turnpike anyway, and drive very easy on road.
