Default Relocating the mirrors..

I got my rugged ridge mirror relocaters today, and tried installing them, however when I remove the torx head bolt from the factory mirrors and try to pull them out it does not budge. The instructions say just wiggle the mirrors side to side but they feel like they are cemented in there. I even took the doors off and had someone hold the door down while I tugged on them. They do no budge. It almost felt like I was going to rip the entire mirror assembly out the door I was trying so hard. The only movement they have is they fold in, like for a car wash but I can not get them to come out one inch. anyone have any tricks for this?

That is too funny I'm waiting on my relocaters to get here and will be putting them on in the next 2 weeks or so. Hopefully I won't have the same problems.

So you took BOTH screws out and the mirror is still stuck to the door? There's a rubber/foam seal between the door and the mirror, maybe you can use a credit card (or something that will not scratch the paint) to break the seal.
Mine came off pretty easy but they did stick alittle, nothing like yours tho.

Put the Torx bolt back in just far enough so that the head still protrudes then hold the bracket and tap on the bolt, works every time.

Mine are stuck too. I tried putting the bolt in until it just protrudes out of the bracket and hitting it with a hammer. I started with light tapping and ended up hitting it pretty hard. The threads started to pop, so I stopped.

I hit it with some PB blaster and let it sit for an hour. They are still seized solid.

My driver's mirror came out fine...passenger I had to tap it once and it then came right out..no problems. Love having mirrors again with no doors.

We are both talking about getting the mirror out of the bracket.
