Default General Tire Grabber AT

I have an opportunity to get these tires for a steal, but I wondered if anyone had any experience with them? I'm looking to upgrade to 33's. I don't do any hard-core off-roading, just want something that might handle a little mud better than the stock Duelers. I'm also not concerned about wear - I only drive about 7000 miles/year.

Based on your requirements they seem to fit the bill. They are 33's and will handle the mud better than the stock Duelers. If they are cheap enough, what do you have to loose?

Had a set in the 90s, pattern may have changed. When I got in some 4in deep
mud they turned into big brown donuts and didnt do shit.

hope they're better now

They'll be better than Duelers about everywhere and they look a little more aggressive, but they are not a mud tire, if that's what you are truly after...

They seem to be a solid tire for the $ (especially if you can get them cheaper than say tirerack has them), should wear well, and outperform the dueler, but you still might get stuck in the deep sticky, squishy mud.

They will not be that great in the mud.... the tread pattern will not clean well. If you are wanting a cheaper M/T look at the Dunlop M/T which is a cheap slightly more aggressive tire.

I've heard people swear by them, then again I've heard people swear at them. It seems to be a tire that really depends on the size. In some sizes they work beautifully for their owners, in others they're junk. Check your size against the MFG's specs. The sizes with 400 or higher UTQG (up to 600 something on a few) are the good ones, the sizes with a 140 or 200 UTQG are the ones I've seen issues with (balance, very quick wear.) If I remember right, they're made by/in 2 different plants.

You may also want to consider the Hankook ATM, GY Duratrac, Dunlop Rover Maxx Trac and Kumho KL71.
