Falken recommends 35 psi but I will pick up a pressure gauge today and check. I'll try 32 ik it's much higher right now

Recommends? Or is that the max psi listed on the sidewall?

An example using the falken wildpeak and the specs from their website, all three tires having roughly the same height/width:

35x12.50x15 max cold psi 35
315/75/16 max cold psi 50
35x12.50x17 max cold psi 50

As suggested above, do a chalk test and a little experimenting to find the right pressure for you. For my 35's, 33+ psi was stiff, 29-32 psi was good, 26-28 psi felt a bit too squishy.

The recommend 35, max is 50. Tire shop had them at 35 and I lowered them to 30 a few minutes ago.
