Default Getting rid of TB drop bracket advise

I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for. I have the Rancho 4" sport lift which is basically springs, shocks, drop brackets, brackets, brackets, and more brackets. I want to get rid of the TB drop brackets because of the added strain on the factory frame mounts. The lift also has a drop pitman arm. I have front and rear JKS TB's in my garage waiting to go in. What I need to know is if I loose the front TB drop bracket do I need to go back to the stock pitman arm? I think that would be an awful steep angle on the drag link. If I leave the drop pitman and remove the TB drop bracket will that give me bad bump steer? What is the right way to do this set up w/o drop brackets?

You'll want to keep your TB and drag link as close to parallel as you can. That 4" sport lift is cheap because of all of the "Compromising" brackets instead of adjustable TBs etc. My 3"OME kit included JKS adjustable TBs front and rear and no brackets or droped pitman. It drives and handles great. The drag link angle is fine. I don't think it would be much different with yours. If it were me, I would get rid of "all" of the brackets and install your JKS TBs and stock pitman arm. Your CA drop brackets are going to be rock magnets on the tough trails. A frend of mine removed his after his first run through a rock garden. Much better now.

I have yet to get hung up on the CA brackets but it is on the list of things to fix. I think I'll leave them on till I have the funds for a long arm kit. So, just go back to stock pitman huh? Of course that is the one stock part I can't find laying around my garage.....gotta head to the dealer parts counter

I just found out today ...

If you get rid of the drop TB bracket you have to get rid of the drop pitman arm. I'm doing the same thing as you ...

I swapped just the Trackbar/bracket today with a Teraflex Monster and my JK was a death wobble machine!

I called Teraflex and they told me to put the stock pitman arm back on ... gonna be doing that tomorrow.

I'd keep the dropped pitman arm. Any lift over 3 inches should have one IMO.

I have 4 inches of lift and the stock pitman arm. And it's by design.

I'm going to assume what Teraflex told him was correct.

The correct way is to insure that the drag link and track bar stay as parallel as possible through normal suspension travel.

Drop pitman's add unwanted stress upon the sector shaft in the steering box. That's why TeraFlex has the #1600440 flipdrag link kit.

Everything is fine now with my 4" Rancho lift using TF Monster bar and stock Pitman Arm.

Good to hear that, now do you still have the raised bracket on the axle? Here's a little video I made that explains how to check the geometry in the front. FYI I talked to you yesterday on this.
