My next trip, I plan to use a pole and get some shots out the window in hope of getting that third person view. My favorite shots are when someone is outside the Jeep filming me, but since that isn't always possible, I'm hoping the pole out the window will at least be close. I also like the shots with the camera mounted up by the speaker bar aimed out the windshield so you can see the back of the driver/passenger bouncing around.

I honestly enjoy the videos where the camera shoots from different angles/locations the best. Not just stuck in one place the whole time. Just my
There is nothing more boring than one camera locked down, especially a dash cam setup

Once I had a friend come with me to a jamboree and I didn't even ask him to but he jumped out and ran from obstacle to obstacle all freaking day!

Best footage I've ever gotten!!

For a single camera I would do something either attached to rear fender or coming around from back on flexible mount

The go pros suck at trying to take footage from more than one cam and editing it together, they don't sync up well to each other's timing

I had good luck mounting it on top of the drivers side mirror. It picks up enough of the jeep to give you a sense of speed and you can pull or push the mirror for different angles if need be.

That's a great idea, I thought I'd seen every mounting place but that is a new one

Unfortunately for this season I'm going to remove the factory mirrors and use the cheap smittybuilt ones...

Last year I tore off a mirror on a challenging obstacle and at another jamboree i grazed a tree and it caved in the passenger door handle...so new outer door panel + paint etc

I don't mind dents at this point but replacing much of a door sucked a bit

Perhaps they've created new ways to avoid it, that would be great! But this is a well-known problem ...

I'd worry about hitting that on something if it sat out that far. That's why I'm thinking a pole might be best for those shots. Here's some examples of what I'm looking for (not my pics, btw):

That shake, rattle and roll I have experienced, but it was a stupid oversight when swapping batteries at a very brief pause on a trail, I had forgotten to put a wifi backpack on and the camera rattled in the case

If you have a 3 or 4 and it's not shaking in the case I have no idea what would cause that

It's going to sound stupid but that rattle is so pronounced that it's super clear in the audio that there is physical movement somewhere...

But you have way more Jeep and most likely more technical experience based on all of the super helpful posts I've read over the past couple of years that I hate to insult you but with such an audible shake I can't imagine that the camera is not snug in its case and then it's mount
