Got a few mounts! The suction cup and the roll bar one is my favorites. The one attached is using the suction cup. door is open but the shoot is a good one. i'll try to get you more angles.

If you have a 3 or 4 and it's not shaking in the case I have no idea what would cause that

It's going to sound stupid but that rattle is so pronounced that it's super clear in the audio that there is physical movement somewhere...

But you have way more Jeep and most likely more technical experience based on all of the super helpful posts I've read over the past couple of years that I hate to insult you but with such an audible shake I can't imagine that the camera is not snug in its case and then it's mount

No, it was snug in its case. The problem was the bracket that I had the sticky mount on was not particularly tight, which also caused the noise you hear. That bracket vibrated, moving the camera due to the rough road. But, I've also seen it on videos made with a secure mount, but the GoPro on a series of attachments to give it a little length plus get it turned the right direction. My point is, that the longer a mount is, the more pronounced that shake/vibration/whatever you'd call it could be at the camera end of it. It's caused by rolling shutter, as I explained earlier and linked to the article later. I was wondering, since you've never experienced it, if perhaps the newer cameras did something to reduce it. IS would certainly help. However, I selected that video because it demonstrated my point. It is not a problem most of the time--I'd say 99% of the time. But that's because I now avoid shots that I think would cause it--I hate to return home and learn that a shot I was really looking forward to using exhibited this artifact. But, anytime one is mounting cameras--and especially GoPros with their simpleton design--one needs to be aware of the possible impact of vibration on the resulting image.

I'm going to The Southern Adventure off road rally, and want that angle for the obstacle courses. I wouldn't let it hand out like that on trails.

May have learned today what the problem is. They redesigned the GoPro mounts to add a white plug that stops the vibration. Here you can see a new mount, my old mounts (which can't fit the plug), and the plug itself. Maybe this will help anytime I use the stick-on mounts!

I haven't had any issues with vibration without using the plug. In fact, I'm pretty sure the documentation said the plug was to keep the mount from coming loose from its foot, rather than as a vibration dampener.

In any case, hope this takes care of it.
