Interesting looking rack, but I've heard from countless sources that mounting things to the hardtop isn't ideal -- as the hardtop simply isn't strong enough. Perhaps just for a few items on top, but with a canoe on top, add the extreme wind resistance (almost like a sail) and with strong enough gusts you are pulling up really hard on that top. Also, the gutters don't seem very strong on jeeps...kinda like fiberglass and nothing more...

But it's interesting -- I'll look into the defender, but their website isn't very good...I make selections and nothing changes for my make/model/year.

$1499 HOLY CRAP. That is one expensive ladder. I got my KM to the door for $790, cage and basket. But damn I dont have a ladder.

I have the KM and love it, and you can't beat the price.
Here's how you fix the wind noise problem:

Buy loud tires!!!!!!!! I can't hear the windnoise due to my m/t's
I plan on adding a basket in the future. I will probably build one. I have added a light bar, that doesn't get in the way of the kayaks. Here are some pics:

shortbuss, The KM rack actually mounts to the frame not the bumper. It comes with a bracket that bolts directly to the frame. You dont need a bumper at all.
Hope that helps some.

Just a heads up the Gobi rack mounts to the frame as well.

I put a GOBI on my 4 door. No real wind noise to speak of. It mouts to the rear frame so rear bumper does not matter. The only complaint I have is that my satellite radio reception is very spotty now. Guess I'll have to get another antenna.

I like the Garvin Wilderness rack!!! The Warrior Products rack holds the most weight and is the cheapest basket style rack. One day when I get the funds I'll get a rack.

it's a little low in the back, you can slide out the rear legs and redrill their holes though.

hope this helps.
Wow, Since I installed my body lift I hadn't ran the back part of my cage b/c I hadn't come up with a great way to mount it higher in the rear. I was over thinking it, this should work.
