Default Good Idea? Bad Idea?

So I have a bit of a dumb question but I figure better safe than sorry. So here's the deal, I just regeared last friday from 4.10's to 5.38's, so I haven't gotten to my 500 mile break in point obviously. Before my regear I posted an ad on CL to see if anyone would trade their 37's for my 35's (total crapshoot), and tonight I got a response from a guy possibly willing to trade his 37x13.5r17's Toyo MT's for my 35x12.5r17's, same tread life, about 70%, so I think its a sweet deal. I know that the Toyo's happen to be a heavier tire, would it be wise to switch out my lighter 35's for the heavier 37's at such a early point after a regear or would that be asking for problems? Any input is appreciated. Thanks

The difference in tire size/weight shouldn't have a big impact. You just need to go easy, follow the proper breakin procedure with new gears and change the diff fluid after breakin...

Awesome, makes me happy to hear, I didn't want to chance losing this opportunity at free 37's but was willing to pass it up if it would have caused any damage to my gears. I appreciate the swift reply and information aldaman! Thanks!

I agree driving easy and for shorter durations I believe will be easier on new gears regardless of weight then driving like a raped ape. PS this is just a figure of speech I by no means condone non-consensual sex between primates.

Haha, i'm glad you cleared that up, with that PETA around you never can tell what they'll think.

Thanks for the post and the new terminology, haha.
