Default Goodyear MTR/K Balancing issues

Do the GY MTR/K still have balancing issues? I searched the forum and could not find any new information regarding the quality and balance. I am leaning towards this tire for several reasons, but not if they are still having balancing issues.

Thanks in advance for the answers!!

Thanks for the link. Also, I will be running 17'' wheels if that makes a difference.

I have them and they seem fine. I had them balanced with equal powder which does a decent job for the most part. I get a little shake at highway speeds but I got used to it. I also rarely have to drive on the highway. They have incredible traction when aired down to 14 pounds of pressure. Great on rocks, they grab very nicely.

Well I live in the country and even though I do not log a lot of "Highway" miles, the majority of my driving is done between 50-80 mph.

I bought some 35x12.5x17 from forum member who didn't like them at all. He said they were hard to balance if any at all. Even read one of his posts saying one tire took 32oz. to balance. Jumped on the deal and I have two with no weight at all perfectly balanced. One at 4. 5 oz.and the tire he said was 32oz. was only 8oz he miss read the actual weights on the inside, each were 1/4 of an oz and not one full oz. Either way it balanced out at 6oz. I like these tires better than my Km 2's on the highway and roads, much smoother, and they seem the same off-road in the sand and dirt. Go for them you won't be disappointed!

The better on-road manners is my reason for leaning toward these tires.

One of my 35" MTR/Ks had a ton of weight on it and was marked "spare" on the backside by the (sneaky) installer. When I rotated I could feel a little vibration. Next rotation I may splurge and find someone with a Hunter Road Force balance machine to do it right.
