Got my stock BFGs siped
Went to the local tire shop yesterday, got all 5 of my tires siped. Cost a little more than I wanted it to ($30/tire), but still cost far less than new tires

It's for ice traction Aparently it'll help all-around though. More edges to bite whatever.

I got mine siped too. They charged me $5 per tire or $30 total. I think it added traction & reduced noise. So far I have not had any serious chunking on the trail but I only got the middle siped and left the outside tread alone to reduce the chunking factor. I also thought siping increases tire life, at least that's what they told me.

Had never seen this before makes sense though. Oh and just checked Va laws and it says its illegal but thats at inspection time so what they don't know won't hurt them right.

couldnt you have done the same exact thing with a razor blade.... its a little more cost effective and you get to sipe exactly where you want to....? just a thought thats what i used to do.... just heat the tires
