I asked the same thing a month or so ago. I didnt know for sure if I would like it and did plastidip on mine. It has a nice dull textured black finish like bedlining, but any time I want i can peel it off and go back to stock. It takes two cans at 6/can. no prep or ruining your stock paint other than washing it with soap and water. heres a link to that thread

I have not seen this. Why replace it rather than just paint stock? and why with something expensive like aluminum? It can weigh that much less than that plastic stock grill thats like 5lbs?

Well you can go two ways I guess. One way is spray on bed liner and the other is just spray paint. If your going with the bed liner you can use some real rough sand paper. If your going to use just spray paint use fine sand paper. When I used the bed liner I noticed it stuck better to rougher surfaces. It's all about prep if you want it to come out good.

Tonka, what bedliner paint did you use? I'm going to be painting mine this weekend and want to do it the right way.
Also do you think a heat gun will be beneficial?
I don't have 4 hours to do everything so I figured I'd shoot it with at least 3-4 coats of bedliner then use the heat gun to dry.
