grinding your solid d44 covers for rubicon models
Hey guys just got my covers and went to their website and they show that you should grind the inside of the cover at the fill plug
here is the link http://www.solidaxle.com/PDF/44_Rubicon_Fitment.pdf
just waiting to get my grinder out to go and do this , they said you may have to or you may not just depends on the how close the switch inside your diff is to the cover but it is winter now here and temps are v low now and don't want to get caught with my pants down in the cold when I go to swap them in
n e one have to do this ? let me know
I will grind them n we ways just to be on the safe side they said it won't effect the integrity of the covers

I ground mine, just a few minutes ago actually. My hands haven't even warmed up yet.
It isn't worth the possibilty of having an issue for the few minutes each I spent on grinding them down. I wasn't a big deal.

Wow you think they would have made them so there was a little more clearance. I don't think you should have to grind them down yourself. That being said, if there is a chance of it being a problem, then yes I would grind a bit down so that you don't have to worry about it during or after the install.

Of course I would like to see them make new castings with the JK Ruby in mind to prevent this going forward.
