Nah. That is what I do....just drop the oil pan in order to replace the filter, then button things back up again and refill. "flush" would be hooking that system up to a more professional machine and forcing new fluid through the full tranny nooks and crannies. I couldn't tell if that is what you meant by "recirculation machine" or not.
That appears to be a machine that is flushing the whole system -
I mean, most of us will literally drain fluid from the pan (or by sucking it out through the dipstick tube), replace the filter, bolt pan back up and fill it up again. My understanding has always been that on an older transmission that has some wear and has been using old/dirty fluid, if you "flush" the old fluid out you increase the odds of dislodging particles and having them settle elsewhere in the system that they shouldn't be. You also have the chance of damaging older seals or clutch packs. If using an additive cleaner then that increases the odds of damage. That is just what I've always read, been told, or understood. I've never really seen real world proof of this or not which is why I was more curious about your situation.
