Default Hard Top Cross Bars!!

hey i need to instal some crossbars on my new hard top and cant find good ones, im installing a roof top tent on my jk so any advise on the bars?

That's too much weight for the hard top. I think you need a rack of some type rated for at least 500 lbs.

Take a look in your users manual. It says do not put any load directly on the hard top.

I had looked at putting a roof top tent on mine too.

You can get an expedition rack, most of them are suitable for putting up a tent on.

no no no u can't mount a tent on ur hard top. u might be able to use that rack. be sure to check the demensions of ur tent so you'll know it will fit those bars

There are plenty of products readily available that will fit the JK without rigging something up that might damage it. It's your Jeep, though.

not to toot my own horn too much.... thats MY JK!!!!

great rack, perfect for the ARB rooftop tent. both items i recently sold, for no other reason than i want a camping trailer.

I have a yakima gutter mount on mine....it will hold a large load. Two Kayaks.....300lb thule top, etc... No problem.....

So you can mount the rails anywhere there is a gutter and I added a gutter mount to the very rear of the hard top so I can actually utilize the entire length if needed....

I've got a pair of Thule gutter mount's that I've used for light loads with no problem's. Only advice is use common sense with your speed.

the tent wheight is about 120 pounds and to people like 320 so is like adding 450 pounds to the hard top....
