I have installed Yakima tracks on my Freedom Top, with Yakima control towers for my Yakima Skybox 16. It is sweet!

I know some other readers have wondered about strength but since Quadratec started selling Yakima fiberglass mounts for the Jeep hardtop, I figured it was time to try it out.

I just came back from skiing, had all the ski's, boots, poles, snowsliders in my cargobox with no issues. Very little increase in wind noise but I decided to put a wind fairing on just cause. I was driving on the highway with the wind a blowing travelling 80 mph. Checked the tracks and no issues!!!

Check out these pics...

$1138 ... And you still haven't even bought a carrier or any accessory. Are they kidding? Nice setup but that's crazy ... A bit rich for me. Maybe if I had one of those JKs that grew money but so far mine only eats it.

The top is not strong enough to support that much weight. I tried a few different loads on it last year and almost cracked the thing.

I just installed my MBRP 2 weeks ago, for less than $900 delivered. Look around on the internet. I think Northridge has it for just a bit over $900 right now.

It is solid as a rock & will hold anything you can hoist onto it.

YES,,YOU CAN install a roof top tent directly to your hard top...

however,,you will need to add "inner suport" to your setup. like this:

dont know if they are for sale or not,,but you get the idea,,just make your own,

hope it helps.
