Has anyone done this.
Got a stubby bumper for front but I don't have any tow points in back, was thinking about moving front tow hooks from stock bumper to back. If you have done this, pics would be great
Amazon.com: hitch shackle
Receiver hitch, I presume...Take the hitch/ball out and use the pin only in the receiver. Put the pin in halfway, attach the trap to the pin using the loop on the strap, push the pin through to the other side, and then lock it in with the cotter pin. I've been doing this for years and have never had a failure of any kind. It stays put - the strap doesn't slip off the ball.

The only thing I have seen gone wrong with this is that the pin can bend and its a pain in the ass to remove. The situation was a full size ford pickup truck buried in mud past his wheel wells. We had to dig down to his hitch and secure the snatch strap in this way ( not sure what quality the hitch pin was ). Needless to say a dozer had to save him. I am sure this method is great just use some common sense anytime you are recovering a stuck vehicle and you should be fine. Just FYI.
