I replaced with Silverstars and ALSO adjusted my headlights. They were practically pointing up at the moon from the factory..

MUCH better now.

Waste of money. But that's just my opinion.

IMO they are a decent upgrade for the money. @ about 20 each, they are far cheaper than HID's (NO, i am not comparing them to HID's, i am just saying they are better than stock bulbs, obviously not as nice as HID's but they are a fraction of the cost)

A lot of people thinks so. I think it depends on your need/use. I dont disagree that there are better lights on the market, there certainly are, but for the price, i think the Silverstars are worth it. As long as you know what your ending up with. If your expecting HID quality lighting for $40... well, youre going to get what you paid for.

I dont need HID lighting for my uses. I have a very short commute to work, and most of it through residentia where HID's wouldn't be much more effective than a candle in a can. The streetlights pretty much take care of it for me. If i lived in an area that was more rural (i wish!) then i would invest in a better lighting system, but for me right now, those would be a waste of money

I'm wanting to use the silverstars for my running lights (fogs) but I have read on other forums that they will hurt the lenses over time, has anyone experienced this?

I disagree, been using Silverstars in every vehicle I've had since 02, and have only had to replace 1 due to burnout. It was a fog light that the lense took a rockhit in a rainstorm. Usually if they burn out, it is due to the oils in ones fingers during install, as stated above.

They do make a big difference on the JK's headlights.

Thanks for the part numbers - I stopped at Advanced Auto tonight and was looking at these, but didn't know which ones were for the JK. They had the part numbers in the computer, but there was a long line at the counter, so I decided to go back tomorrow.

Now I know exactly which ones to get.

The are issues with the headlights found on the JK (or at least the 07).

Most people think that changing the BULB that they will get better lighting. Unfortunalely I THINK (that is in my opinion) the reflector is at fault. It spreads the light too wide. It needs to be more focussed/narrow.

I tried changing the bulbs to Silverstar but I quickly found out that the wattage of the bulbs are limited to 55 watt- you can change the colour but you are limited tot he wattage. You won't find higher wattage bulbs just eye appealing colours.

I bought a set of Delta headlight assemblies and what a difference! Most of the light stays on the road in a precise pattern . I drive where there are no street lights so I notice the difference.

Have you checked out the Cibie lights offered by Daniel Stern?

Default Just swapped in my silverstars

Found silverstar headlights on amazon for ~$18 a pair and just put them in. I ended up pulling the grill off and doing it that way. They went in easily enough. I will take a ride later to see if I sense any difference. In the past, in other cars, I had them and liked them. Since I caught them on sale, it wasn't a big investment. I will look for the fog light bulbs too. Another mod down.
