Default Header leak

Been hearing a ticking for a while. I origionally thought it was knocking/pinging, but after a pcv valve change I started thinking I had a cracked header. I did a seafoam treatment today and boy oh boy did I see a lot of smoke coming out from my header. I didn't remove the heat shield to check for cracks, but I did notice it was leaking from the gasket where it connects the the rest of the exhaust. Has anyone used that putty that seals exhaust leaks? Any luck with it? I know I need new headers, and a new exhaust entirely wouldn't hurt, but I have a worn out drag link that is causing play, I need adjustable LCAs to get rid of some flightiness, and I'm gonna need about $1500 for new tires by the end of the summer. So headers are pretty far down the list.

Not too unreasonable. A lot cheaper than the stealership.
