Default Headers?

Hey guys, before I ask my question I just want to extend my apologies to the members of this forum and Quadratec for my last thread regarding Quadratecs shipping rates. Every item I have ordered from Quadratec has reached me in two or less business days and if they are a sponsor of this forum I owe them more respect than was afforded them earlier. As far as members, I appreciate your feedback and thank you all for all your quick and super helpful input! I was just frustrated and should have kept my mouth shut.

Now for my question: does anyone have or know of anyone who has headers installed in their JK? If so how have they been and are they worth it?

I have Ripp headers. They are expensive but they are very well manufactured and very well worth it.

You will feel HP gains. How much? I never had my JK dyno'd after the install. Quoted from Ripp's website "these headers will provide on average of 35lbs/ft or torque 600 RPM sooner than stock and 25 rear-wheel HP gains with excellent response throughout the RPM range". I believe every bit of that.

You will not have heat issues. Many owners of shorty headers complain of melting spark plug wires and melting battery boxes. You will not have that issue with Ripp hearders. I still have my stock plug wires on my JK and have been running these headers for almost a year.

The install was not to bad. I have a long arm lift so that complicates things. Still was not to bad.

I can literally feel and hear my engine running. I like that. My wifes 2012 JKU is so quite I'm not sure it is running sometimes.

Are they worth $2000. IMO, Yes!!! If you have the money go for it.

Make sure to go with long tube headers like Ripp, otherwise you won't really notice anything but more heat under the hood

They are pricey but you will reap some benifits. I too have the MBRP exhaust which is what Ripp recommends with thier system.

Unless you get a tune for your headers, you will gain no benefit with the MAP system in the Jeep. It cannot read the extra flow through the exhaust and will run lean.

That being said, I have the RIPP long tube headers and tune and they are well worth the money. A very noticeable improvement in low
To mid range torque.
