Default Headers and heat...

I've seen threads about headers melting plug wires, wiring, blah, blah, blah. I'm just wondering who has experienced this and any fixes. I would like some RIPP headers on my 2011, but concerned about these issues. I've decided I'm not going with a SC since it's my daily driver, so any and all responses are appreciated...Thanks in advance.

The Brown Santa just dropped these off yesterday, taking them in for ceramic coating on Friday and will probably install them next weekend. I picked up some heat insulator sleeves to protect the spark plug wires. I will let you know how they hold up and if there are any issues. These headers are a work of art! Cannot wait to get them on.

I have the ripp lt on my 2010. They use the factory heat shields. My plug wires are still in good shape. Had them on for about a year. No problems.

I had a supercharger, and JBA ceramic coated headers.
I saw the warnings about heat so I bought the heat boots for the plug wires.
after about a year....
melted battery box, melted heat resistant plug wires, just melted everything.
the headers are a serious PITA to install too.

I run RIPP headers with factory heat shields and a RIPP SC for over 50K miles so far....only heat issues were when I crushed my cross member and it pulled up the Rock Hard skid plates so far that the skid plates pushed the headers into contact with the floor boards. A bunch of heat would then transfer up through the floor at the drivers feet.

Replaced the cross member and all was good.

I have had a set of RIPP headers on my 2009 with zero heat issues.

Dropped the complete header / cats setup at the local ceramic coating shop today, should help with heat!
