Help!!!
Try going to an auto parts store, bbuy the 35mm and a few sizes on either side of it. Test fit them, keep the one that fits, return the rest. Thats what i did when i did my seals.
A hammer tapping on the flange is an excellent way to pop it loose. What would you have used? I noticed you have added nothing of use to this post.

So i put a digital caliper on the nut and it came out to 1.25 inches. A 1 1/4 inch or a 32 mm socket wont fit on the nut. I dont know if the nut is misshaped or something?
I was doing the work at my parents house and needed to get home this afternoon so i just put it in 4wd and drove it home with no rear shaft. I guess im going to take it to a shop to get the rear yoke installed.
This has turned out to be way more than i bargained for.

Man I saw a dealership mechanic replacing my diesel company pickups u joint and cringed like a mofo LOL!! It was brutal to say the least, and yes I have replaced probly a dozen u joints in my time and all I can say is a bigger hammer isnt the best way to solve it especially if you wil be doing it 2 or 3 times throught the vehicles life.
I hope i'm not the only one who thinks thats awesome. i'm not sure id ever think of that. turn it into FWD.. hell i dont even know the mechanical rammifications of such a thing. but props for the guts to do it.
Haha thanks, I had to get it home somehow. I got it fixed two days later.
