I think the spacer and isolater combo is a more viable problem because anyone would notice the rear suspension not cycling at all with the bumpstops caught.

That is correct, but that is the only way I can see the bumpstop getting caught and causing the axle to get stuck in the down position.

My bumpstops were on backwards, and the passengers side kept geting hit by the bolt head of the track bar if memory serves me corret. Everytime I hit a bump, though I was bottoming out. Turned them around and all is well.
