HELP - CAN'T SLEEP UNTIL I FIX A PROBLEM installing a 2.5 lift....
Tires are now on. Driveshaft is re-connected and torqued. I've managed to get the axle side bolt back into the front trackbar.
The tires are turned all the way towards the driver's side and I can't get them to move by turning the steering the wheel, it feels locked. Also, on the passenger's side, the top of the sway bar link is up against the inside of the tire (not sure if this is worth noting so that I'd mention it).
So now exactly what do I do to get the axle back to where it should be? Again, you're talking to a noob here, so please be as specific and basic as you can.
And I have NOT yet re-installed the shock. I was thinking that I needed to address this first so that I could do that?

Got it worked out. Just had to muscle the steering wheel.
Now tackling that shock. Looks like I'm going to have to take the tires back off, get it on stands and then try again. I think it might be to hard to compress to get it to line up in the bottom bracket (the top is already connected).

Hold on a second there... From the picture, it appears your swaybar is in the wrong position. It needs to be level with the frame. That is why it is hitting your tire. You need to unhook the links and pivit the bar up before you bend the links.
Yes indeed your sway bar is upside down. When you lowered the jeep to the ground the links pushed it down towards the ground instead of up. I've had quite a few trouble calls with this happening. Disconect your axle bolt on the sway bar the jack it back up and flip it back up. On our sway bar lknk page there is a animated gif taht shows the position the sway bar should be seen in. sway bar pic Follow that link it should give you a good visual. As for the axle being shifted, if you hooked your track bar back up while the jeep was in the air you have moved the axle over. This is a easy fix. While on the ground remove the track bar axle mount bolt. Jack it back up so that the coils completley extend then set it back down with no bolt in the track bar axle mount. Once the JK is back on its wheels have someone turn the steering wheel to shift the axle so that the track bar aligns with the axle mount. Hope this helps. Read the comments about the sway bar too late. Sigh, I've got more issues now.
So again, I got the front trackbar back into place. Muscled the steering wheel and lined up the axle side bolt. It's in there, but only hand tight.
The shop that has my tires fixed the sway bar end link, used a vice to get it back in there. I came home, started on the shock. To do it, I raised the Jeep back up and took the tires off. Got the driver's side shock in.
Walk over to remove the jackstand from the axle on the passenger side only to find that the sway bar end link bushing has just about come out of there as well. Looks almost identical to the previous picture. And now it looks like there's a tear in the rubber housing surrounding the ball joint.
The way bar is definitely pointing down and not level with the frame. I wish I had known that sooner.
So now I still have one functional sway bar end link, and the other separate from the bushing as soon as I remove it. As things stand now...
The jeep is still on jacks under the frame with the dif being supported by a floor jack. Wheels / tires are off. I haven't removed the almost defunct sway bar end link from the passenger side. The sway bar is definitely pointed down.
I'll follow the link you guys have sent (had already checked out the Teraflex install video in preparation and it seemed helpful). But for my sake (I'm so frustrated and exhausted), could I ask for a step by step walkthrough of what I should do?

Definitely did not get everything worked out yet and I'm on babysitting duty now so it's tough to make it to the garage. I'm in Steiner Ranch (FM 620 and 2222) and am so desperate for help right now.
