Default Help Choosing Tires please

I am going to put a 2.5 inch Teraflex spring lift w/ shocks on my 2007 Jk X 4 door, so I need to figure out what tires to get.

Here is what I can tell you:

1. My driving will be 80 % road / 20 % off road.
2. Live in northern Indiana, mostly dirt/mud unless I go to the badlands or up to Silverlake dunes in Michagan.
3. Planning a trip out to the Grand Canyon area, next summer.

Now part of my problem that is not fixable:

The Wife factor:
1. Must be less (and that means not label or measuring) than 35 inches tall.
2. Must be quiet on the Road.
3. Good Road life

So I am not sure what to get yet. Tires that I have been looking at are:

Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ
Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ
Pro Comp All Terrain
Pro Comp Xtreme All Terrain
BF Goodrich All Terrain KO

Tires that I can't go with are Goodyear Wranglers. I don't even want to try putting the same type of tire on that I would be taking off, again wife factor.

Wheels, I think that I am set on the Mickey Thompson Classic II in the 17 x 9.

Any suggestion would be great!!

ha ha i was going to say the new goodyear wrantgler mt/r's with kevlar..
they are goodyear wranglers.. but it ends there. the MT/R is VERY different from what came on your JK

I paid $950 for 5 shipped to my door from discounttires.com

and they are 35" x 12.5" x15 (they measure almost 34")

I had BFG A/Ts before these (33", but measured 31.9").. ran them for 20K miles, they didnt show any wear at all... but they are NOT a mud tire. however they work well everywhere else.

I love my KM2s, but they aren't especially quiet. Less noise than a traditional MT, but not quiet...

imo, bfg's ,best street tire that lasts a long time and quiet

pro comp extreme at,aggressive look and good ware factor but get a little noisey when they start to ware down, not bad tho

those are the only two that i have had before

and then you can get a tire that says 315 70 17,usually they don't say 35 12.50 17 and they usually don't measure 35 inches either so you might be able to get 35' anyways

so good luck

Check out July issue of "JP"magazine it got a pretty good Tire guide inside. Thinking your needs and mine are about the same and the BFG A/T's might be the best choice.

I just got my 315/70/17 Firestone Destination M/T s last week. VERY quiet for mud tires. They have a rumble ONLY below the first tick of the spedometer, so <5MPH. Like at a stoplight or stopsign. They look sooooo good in my opinion, and measure and calculate a little under 35". Have no clue on the life of them cause I have only had them a week, but they have had decent reviews on it. Got them for ~$230 each. I replaced BFG AT s and don not regret it yet. The BFGs are what I always buy, but wanted a more agressive tire this time.
