As I am looking at tires, I have a wheel question. Can I put 16 inch wheels on the JK without issues? It amazes me to see such price differences from 16 to 17 inch. Going to a 16 inch wheel sure puts a lot more tires into an easier price range for me. And since I said that, my price range is to stay less the 2000 for tires and wheels, set of 5.

Would I get a better ride on the road from a load "C" tire and better grip from a tire that flexed more when off roading? It seems that most of the 17 inch tires are the load "D" and "E". Or is it better to have a heavier load range for off road use.

My opinion is load range C softer ride better road manners.
Off road a softer sidewall may get more sidewall damaged,I have never had a problem off road.
16 inch come standard on the base X so no problems there.
toyo A/T are great all around, balance nice, ride nice ,no noise ,and great in the snow.

Anything else just ask.

I have had the Procomp Extreme A/T's now for three months and LOVE them. They look great and are not loud at all. In fact I hardly didn't hear a difference between them and the stock tires. They are 35's on a 17x8 rim.

I have these on my tow vehicle (EXCURSION) They are great on road! Never tried them off road!

My vote is for MTR's though.

Well, I am down to making a decision from these 3 that I can get locally.

editGoodyear Mt/r kevlar
Goodyear Duratrac
Bf Goodrich Mt Km2
Bf Goodrich At Ko

BFG's are about 1240 installed for 5 280/70x17
GY's Duratrac are about 1050 installed for 5 280/70x17
GY's Mt/r Kevlar are about 1275 installed for 5 280/70x17
GY's Mt/r kevlar are about 1350 installed for 5 305/70x17

I have been reading everything I can about the Km2 and the Duratrac. They both seem to be pretty quiet from what I have read. But I have not seen much on the mileage of them.

I know how the Ko's are since I have them on my other toy, but I am thinking that I would like something a little more aggressive.

What do you guy's think between these three choices?

And also, I have decided not to get wheels for now and just going with my standard Aluminum JK rims with spacers for now. Wife likes the factory wheels, so can't go wrong if they are still on it.

Just got the KM2's and they fit the bill. They are quiet so far and promise to wear pretty well.
