After scouring the forum for answers I'm starting to beleive it may be a ball joint issue. I have 30k on the jeep now and I know they haven't been replaced.

Maybe after the lift it put extra strain on them and one or more is toast now.

1. Do each BJ's have up/down play to check for or side to side also?

2. I know the crowbar under the tire trick but what about the tie rod ends and drag link? How do I check those?

3. Currie or Dynatrac? cost vs. performance

That would be awesome. I've tried a shout out on some of the local clubs but its not like JK-Forum...No one responds.

Just give me alittle time to settle in and then we'll hit some trails

Just let me know, we belonged to mile high for several years and just recently dropped out, its a good club you just need to find a patrol that you enjoy. I am in my forties, married and two boys in there twenty's, drive an 07 X that I have been slowly building up since I purchased it new. We enjoy moderate trails that are a challange but I do not like to hammer my Jeep, it is a daily driver.

I'm in the same situation basically. Registered for MHJC but no one has responded with patrol suggestions.
I wheel pretty hard but mines a DD also. I'll want to do exploritory trails like Engineers pass and Chinaman trail etc.... for the first couple trips. That is unless you know really good spots.

To check for lateral play on your ball joints, you grab your tire in the 10 o'clock position and 2 o'clock position and pull back and forth. There should be no visible play side to side.

Got the Ball joint check but how about the tie rod ends? up and down by hand or with a crowbar? rotation?
