Default Help with gears!!

I'm not much of a mechanic, so I plan on taking my gears to be installed professionally. Can anyone that has taken them somewhere give me a rough estimate of what they paid to get this taken care of?? Don't wanna get ripped off!!! Thanks

I went to a local differential shop and it cost me $975 for the install on my rubi. That DIDN'T include the gears

Check some of our sponsors for comparable rates and maybe price matching by your local guys. Last time I checked, Screaming Lizard Customs charges $799 an axle INcluding gears. The 4WheelParts ads I get in the mail usually show about $700 for gears for both axles, but not sure what install runs.

If your in a high population JK area...might consider taking some training on it, buying whatever tools are necessary, and charging your buddies something cheap just to cover your learning, tools, and beer.

If this helps out, Off Road Evolution's price for gears and install is $1200 plus tax on the parts, and this is in SoCal too. The gears and minor install kits are roughly $590 to $600, which would make install on the gears roughly $600. I would however pay more than that at a reputable gear shop that you know will do the job right opposed to a cheaper shop with less reputation for quality. Hope this helps out!
