Default Help make a decision.

I am in the market for new 35" tires. I am running stock wheels and a 2.5" RC coil lift. I have about 1400$ to spend max.

I was looking at Duratracs, MTRKevs, and KM2. duratracs run about 1290$ MTRK are 1379$ and KM2 are 1360$...

I know I need wheel spacers to fit the tires. which is about another 150-200. I also wanted to eventually add 1.5" coil spacers to my suspension...

Thing is. I found a good deal on 35" BFG AT/KO for 750. only 3k miles on them. Ive read they last about 30k. with these I will have enough for some aftermarket wheels and coil spacers as well.

So Do I got with a tire I like and spend more money than intended by getting the wheel spacers to go along with them?

Or go with the BFG AT/KOs with money to spare for wheels with proper back spacing?

I dont hate the BFG AT/KOs, I actually know they perform well off road. They just aren't as aggressive looking as I would like. And I live in CO, so snow and rain is a factor. I do mostly moderate trails and backcountry exploring.

We prefer to see you in the correct wheel instead of using spacers. For now you can get the wheel and the used tires. Once you need tires again you can step up to the KM2 or another MT. Or instead of wearing out the used tires you can save up again and get the tires you want and sell the used tires yet again.

Thanks for the input! Is there a reason you guys prefer correct wheels over wheel spacers? Just curious

Honestly going with the brand new more agressive MT/wheel spacer is REALLY common. I ran 35" MTR/K on stock 17in aluminum moabs with spydertrax spacers for 25k plus miles with absolutely no issues. With Spydertrax wheel spacers you really wont have a problem.

We just don't like all that extra weight being leveraged with the spacer. It tends to wear other components out faster.

Wears no faster than wheels with proper back spacing. It's just that it's one more part that could fail.

Having wheel spacers is the same as an aftermarket wheel with a 4.75" backspace. You'll put as much wear and tear on components either way you do it. I've had my wheel spacers on for 10k miles without a single issue. Proper maintenance is key, if you're lazy just buy new wheels then.

Both are great tires I've had then both but the duratracs are better all around, plus I think the KM2 sucks in the mud..... Cakes up way to fast for my liking.
I currently have 315/70R17 Goodyear Duratrac tires
