Default Help-Need Winch Bumper that will let me tow Jeep.

Buying an 09 Rubicon 4 dr. I am having a hard time finding a winch bumper that will let me hook motorhome tow bar up to it. I have a Roadmaster tow bar.

Any suggestions or pics would be helpful. I like the Mopar bumper with skid plate but Roadmaster says there tow brackets will not fit the Mopar bumper. I like the AEV but $1200 is too much money.

I was thinking about buy a bumper and just welding some tow hooks onto the bumper that would fit my Roadmaster tow bar.

I saw one bumper (can't remember) that came with brackets for the Mopar tow bar but I don't like the Mopar towbar because the vehicle will not follow motorhome as well on tight corners.

Thanks for help in advance.

Contact LoD. Their bumpers are of good quality and reasonable in price. A friend of mine recently purchased one and Chris @ LoD custom built tabs on the bumper that would hook up directly to my friends tow bar and he was very happy with the result.

drhines----I had to take my Blue Ox tow bar off to install the Warn winch plate. Hoping to go to the ARB bumper in April. Good Luck.

I bet roadmaster just hasn't checked the 2009 Jeeps yet but they do make the bracket for the off road bumper for 07-08. I haven't read about any changes in the frame or bumper mountings from the 07 to 09. I have the brackets but with the stock bumper, very easy to install.

"The Jeep"
Thanks for the reference on Roadmaster. I guess I will call them because I'm still not clear on it. Just below your reference it says 07-09 wrangler, NO aftermarket bumpers with notes to the fact that it will not fit Mopar bumper with skid plate.

WRANGLER 07-09 Fits all 2 & 4 door models. No aftermarket bumpers. MX 3, 37,51 1429-3 A B

What I was trying to say is that Roadmaster makes the bracket you want for the 07 and 08. They have not checked to see if it will fit on an 09. If you search on roadmasters web site for brackets for a 07 or 08 you will come up with what I did. The pdf to install them states that you have to cut the skid plate for the skid plate to fit. If the frame and front bumper have not changed from 08 to 09 then that bracket will fit. Unfortunately for us we don't have many choices when I comes to towing the Jeep.

what kind of tow bar are you pulling your Jeep with. It looks like with your setup the bracket welded onto the skid plate would have to be made specific for your towbar.
