Default Help with new jeep lift/tires

Hey guys/girls i just brought a 2007 JK 4d 4WD and was wondering whats is the max lift and tire combo that that keep can handle without major mods? I will be just using it mainly as a daily driver. and i might be pulling a trailer with maybe a golf cart or something to that weight behind it. i am torn between a 4in lift or the skyjacker 6 in long arm? 35in or 37 in tires not sure if that v6 will run 70 on the highway with 37s. Thanks in advance.

I too am in the same situation. There are just so many choices out there and pros and cons for each... I will take delivery of my 08 2dr Rubicon tomorrow. I already have the fender flares, wheel adapters and rims. I am wanting to run 37s but just don't know which lift to get.... Skyjacker, Superlift, BDS, RE, Terraflex, ProComp and I am sure I am forgetting some... Mine will be used as a daily driver with the weekend beach runs and the occassional mud run. I am sure I don't need a long arm kit, but which one to go with???

I know there are tons of answers out there, so come on folks share your knowledge.....

Sure the V6 will handle it just fine so long as you regear.

Yes, at 6", a long arm kit will provide a nicer ride

It has 4.10 in the gears do i need to go bigger? also do you recomend the 4.5 long arm or the 6 in long arm? i am new to lifts and needing advice. please let me know what you would do. it will be my daily driver. i just want to do it right now so in the long run i dont have to redo the setup thats why i am thinking about the 6 in lift. i dont know i am 6'6 so i would like to go high but i want a ride that will last. i dont mind doing mods eventually just not all at once. thanks again for you help/

To run 35's, you'll want no less that 4.88's and with 37's, 5.13's. Now, I am running my 6-speed on 35's with 5.13's and love it. The new gears make my JK feel like it's got a new engine and I would definitely recommend this setup to you.

As far as lifts go, I'll tell you that 6" is a LOT of lift and have seen guys fit 40's under their JK. If you are just planning to run 35's-37's, I would recommend going with a 4"-4.5" lift.

Thumbs up

If I were in your shoes, I would get a 2.5" budget boost and run either 33" or 35" tires. This setup is relatively inexpensive, will maintain your factory components, and you will be amazed at how your jeep will be able to do offroad with it. If you choose to go with 35" tires, they will not rub with the 2.5" budget boost.
