It's easier to take them off and spray them. Just do light coats and let dry

It really would be quicker and safer to pull the lights off.

The tails are easy, take off the screws, pull the lens our, mask off the lens because it's all one unit and spray it.

The side markers you have to pop the couple of plastic clips underneath the wheel well, it will separate the plastic from the fender and you should be able to reach in, pop the 2 clips that hold the light in and remove the lens.

Make sure you hit the lens with 1000 grit sandpaper and clean it with alcohol before spraying. Not scratchy just kind of faded looking, paint will stick better.

As far as coats go some folks like 2 coats other like 3 coats. I'd also recommend hitting it with 1 if not 2 coats of clear after the paint. Gives it a little bit of a gloss look. If you go to dark you only have 2 choices, replace the lens and start over, or put in LED lights. I personally like darker coating with LED's - looks much better and still gives you the brightness to be safe. The problem I have noticed is not so much the non-LED's shining through at night - it's during the day if you go to dark those behind you can't tell when your break lights are on easy. Also depending on the state you are in you may not pass inspection and may get ticketed.

Enjoy!

^^^ agree....I have painted a lot on my Jeep without pulling things. You have to make sure, then check again that your prep work is awesomesauce! Paint is like sand and it will find the spot that you thought you covered. But the one good thing! Paint comes off easy, very easy with nail polish remover...it's amazing! and it doesnt F up your factory paint job!
