Help...shop installed my lift wrong!
I've got a question. Did you order the BB kit with the shock adapters? I'm probably thinking out of my a$$ here but looking at the spring so compressed, is it posible that they did not use the extension or change the shocks?
I always thought my front springs looked too compressed to begin with. There was only about 2" from the bottom of the bump stop to the axle. I never did get around to checking into that. My front tube bumper isn't that heavy...I'll have to check on the weight.
Wow, for some reason, none of this surprises me once you said it was done at "trick trucks".
I’m sorry, but I’ve heard nothing but bad stories about them, and you just added on to the list. I hope you get everything straiten out with them. Since you are in VA, next time you want some 4x4 work done, just lookup independent4x. They do some awesome work
. A buddy of mine had his S10 get a SFA conversion there. They do everything from the small stuff, to building a complete rig.

I appreciate the info on the VA 4x4 shop. It's about 2 hours from Leesburg, but would definately be worth the drive to get an install done right.
I went back to the shop yesterday to have them put the factory coil spring retainers back on. They had a different mechanic (and an assistant mgr.) work on my Jeep. *sigh* sadly I had to explain several steps to them so they didn't break anything. At first they ignored me...but I had pretty much memorized all 52 of the installation steps...so I knew what I was talking about, thanks to the detailed writeup; thanks Wayoflife!
My jeep looks much better now. I hadn't noticed the ride being "bad" after the bad install, but it is definately much smoother. I'd have to say it rides about like it did before the lift...which is what it's supposed to do from what I understand.
I haven't had a chance to do new pics since it's been raining, but I'll get some up this afternoon.
Thanks to all for your feedback/support and sharing in my grief. Thank you Don-a-vee Jeep for the email info.
So, lessons I have learned:
1. Don't take my Jeep to Trick Trucks, they work on trucks, not Jeeps (ask around, forum, local club, etc. before getting Jeep work done at an aftermarket shop)
2. Don't leave the shop if the install doesn't seem right--you'll just be driving back the next day, hopefully with no damage caused by the install.
3. I probably should have done the install myself--there's not anything I couldn't have done in my driveway after seeing the wrench monkees do the install. TeraFlex should have made an instructional video--I would have paid $10 for that.
There's other things I've learned too, but I've typed to much already. Thanks again to you all.

Damn, sorry to hear about your troubles. I was going to use TT to do my lift (when I get around to buying one) but I definitely won't now. I went in there once and they seemed a little shady. More like a bunch of guys sitting on the couch, drinking, cussing, and watching a game than professional mechanics. I have no problem with drinking or cussing or watching a game but I don't want to pay to watch you do it.
