Help with Teraflex Leveling Kit
I recently purchased the Teraflex 1.5" Leveling Kit. It has 2" spacers for front and 1" spacers for rear to lift a little and level it out. It also came with new sway bar links. Liek with a lot of other kits, this one did not come with shock extenders or brake line extenders. Do I need these for just daily driving? Can I just install these spacers with stock shocks etc?
Also, the local shop wants 3-4 hours of labor at $90 / hour to install with an alignment. Kinda pricey for a $125 kit. Doesn't seem difficult. Anyone have experience with these or any other spacer kit install? And do I need an alignment or just center the sterring???
Cheers!

If you have the means do it yourself..... not alot of tools are needed and it's pretty easy even for first timers. We did one in a driveway in under 90 minutes and that was with a bunch of BS'ing and misplacing of tools.
plenty of people put them in themselves,
but I just didnt wanna mess with it and had a professional put it in.
Mine was like $225 with a $75 alignment (which was recommended with a change in your suspension),
Everything you need is in there if you're all stock. you dont need shock extenders or brake line extenders.

You do not need a alignment with this kit. Unless you add some adjustable control arms then there's no point to pay for one. You should only need to recenter the steering wheel and that is it.
Thanks!

I did mine myself too. no alignment or re-centering was necessary. A pair of jackstands and a good jack to lift it is a must, a good long crowbar is handy for the front. Make sure that you detach the brake line brackets from the body, it makes the whole axle drop more and makes it a lot easier to put the springs back in after the spacers. I forgot to do mine and I practically had to bench-press the damn things in place, after I finished I realized the rookie mistake I had made
I got price quotes from local shops ranging from $190 to $350. I suspect for an experienced mechanic with a car lift and air tools this is a 30 min job, 1 hr at most.
Good luck and have fun.

Is a coil spring compressor necessary or does the axel travel far enough down to remove easily without it?
The instructions seem very simple... maybe too simple. For the front, I know I need to remove the front sway bar bolts, shock bolts at the bottom and loosen the break line brackets. Anything else? And anything other than the shock bolts for the rears?

No spring compressor needed. Back, lower shock bolts, loosen brake line brackets, pull off axle breather( get a .10 hose clamp for reinstall, don't know why they didn't come from the factory!!) I removed the lower sway bar links to get more drop. Now the fun part. Once you've removed the spring and stick spacer you'll notice that the Teraflex has a "ball" on the top of the spacer. That has to go up into the hole above where you took the stock spacer out. I'm not a weak man at all, but some have claimed they pushed it in. There was no way. I took a smaller jack and place it on top of the axle and jacked it up until it was on the new Teraflex spacer and "pop" she went right in. Then put a little grease inside the ring of the stock spacer (helps slide it over the shaft of the Teraflex) and your ready to put the spring back in. Going to take mine off this weekend so if you need a few pics just let me know, or grab a 12 pack of some good times and slide by and I'll help ya put it on
