Default Help with tire choice ???

I am throwing on a 2.5 inch lift soon and some 33's for my DD and have narrowed it down to the Pro Comp Ex AT or the Dick Depek FC II. Both have great road reviews and good offroad reviews for moderate trails. This jeep is kept on the road 90% of the year, have a CJ for Offroad Fun. I am still looking for the most aggressive look without running an MT tire. Which would you pick?

Not one of your choices, but if I were gonna put an AT on my Jeep, then I'd have a difficult time going with anything besides a BFG TA KO.

Default high dollar

those seem like mighty high dollar tires for 90% highway use. I believe if I only wheeled 10% of the time i'd stick wih street tires. But it is ur money.

Seriously?

I'd bet that over 1/2 of this board wheels only about 10% of their total miles or less.

The funny thing is, most people drive a long distance to and from their favorite off-roading destinations. I can drive 200 miles to Moab, spend all day on the trails, and only put 20 off-road miles on the odometer. Then I have to drive 200 miles back. Miles driven off-road: less than 5% of total.

I would estimate that 98% of the people on this forum haven't logged more than 10% of their miles off-road. I've only seen a couple of people on here that use their JKs as dedicated off-road rigs.

We should ask WOL how many miles he has on his JK and how many of them were driven off the pavement.

I concur...I run the BFG A/T KO in a LT315/75R16...GREAT tire in terms of road manners and driveability, and in terms of longevity...I have seen these things consistently go anywhere from 50-70K mile (assuming regular rotation and balance as well as proper alignment).

I just went through the same decision process. After several weeks of reading posts here and everything i could find on the subject, I decided on 17" ProComp wheels and Nitto Terra Grappler tires. Great decision, I am perfectly happy...

Its more like 2% of miles driven off road as an average...
