Default Hemi questions.

Hey everyone.

I searched the forum and Google and haven't found exactly what I'm looking for.
I have a 2008 jku that I'm doing a Hemi swap in, I have the engine transmission as well as the harness and computer from a 2013 ram 1500. I have seen in a few posts that the valve body in 2011+ transmissions will not work.

My question is why not? Is it a shifting issue or does it have to do with the computer? I'm wondering if I have everything from the same vehicle can I make it work?

Also can I have the computer from the ram sent to a company, like jeep speed shop and have them program it instead of buying a computer?

Thanks from Canada

From what i have read, the 2011 valvebody has a few less holes inside and an extra pin in the harness. I did a swap myself but used a complete 2010 dropout. I used a JSS kit and as far as I know most of the others program a JK type PCM. I did not use a truck computer nor do I know of anyone that has. yoi could probably find a PCM from another JK used and send it somewhere to have it programmed with your VIN and HEMI programming. Or possibly by one programmed from them as I am certain they can add your VIN. I used JSS for everything and once I got everything it turned out great. Todd from JSS is a great and knowledgeable guy, when you can get a hold of him. I know V8HJ in AZ, has from what I am told identical tuning to that of JSS. I would expect $4-500 for tuning.

How far along are you? Are your using a kit?

I haven't even started yet, just gathering parts and info. I have a compete set up from a 2013 ram 1500, it only had 32000 km on it, and the jk I just purchased, only has 96 k, it spun a bearing so I got a good deal on it. My dad and I are going to build it, not going to buy a kit just a few pieces and fab up the rest. Just seeing what my options are with the 2013 trans.
