hood hack
I'm thinking about hacking my hood up and installing some vents to get more cooler air in there..maybe on the top and the sides...anybody got any ideas or suggestions on what to use for vents?
thought about that...but the AEV hood has vents...also maybe i could put some mesh in there to keep big mud clots out.
Still in the R & D portion of this mod.....looking for any advise.
thank you

if your worried about the jeep getting to hot. put a new K&N filter in stock location. that will help alot. heck put in a cold air intake. you could even get a new fan to push more air in. jeeps always run hot. they always have. but i jave yet to see one overheat. and i live in Arizona.

The CAI box has heat shields that block engine heat whereas the standard airbox is just plastic. Seems like I read about a test that proved temps were about 13 degrees cooler inside a CAI box and that translated to +5 or +6hp.
I have a CAI already...that's why i want the vents..to feed that sucker icey cold goodness.
i was thinking something like this...can't be too hard...can it

I can think of a lot better reason to "hack" up your hood. The AEV snorkel for one. Are you having overheating issues? If so, I think you're in the minority. Are you sure you just don't want Hummer lookin vents?

and that would be bad.
