LOL, Mark. Indeed, a few don't bother to read carefully.

My advice would be to use zip ties and/or remove the hood spring until the OP has the chance to upgrade the rubber dog bones with Daystars.

The reality is that there's not much risk associated with the hood bounce, but it can give the driver a very uncomfortable feeling...

I was worried about this issue because i have read it over and over from people. Did they fix this issue on the 2011s? My hood latches are real nice and tight and never bounce.

Mine are nice and snug to, but when the conditions are just right it will flutter,

Thanks everybody. I have the same issue. Noticed it the day I left the dealer. Just ordered some Daystars. I may go ahead and remove the spring as well.

lol the instructions say to use two vice grips and twist the plastic pins until they break. Another words, break the cheap jeep crap and replace with the aftermarket! I would try to just break the pin with whatever you have if you don't have vice grips. Hope this helps!

The pins are steel, encased in plastic with plastic flanges. To get them off easily, just insert a razor saw or even a hacksaw blade between the rubber and the bracket. Saw thru the plastic to the pin. Rotate and repeat rotating the pin about 60 degrees each cut. Then, using vise grips and/or channel lock pliers, grab the plastic flange on each side and gently twist. Pull out the now severed plastic and push out the steel pins. Doing it this way allows you to avoid the knucklebusting experience of having to remove the lower half of the latch from the fender. Just be careful, a slip with the pliers in close proximity to your paint could leave a scratch.

Bought the daystars and within two weeks both sides had broke... forget em... they may be cheap but I wasn't looking forward to one breaking on a trip somewhere, then having to jerry rig it.
I broke down bought the Drakes and holy *&^% they are cool!! Should have done that to begin with. Someone else in one of these threads said best "you get what you pay for" that's the truth...

I just wrapped some velcro straps around the latches just last week.

No more hood flutter. Even at 80 mph
