I knew I wanted 35" MTRs and a black 15" wheel so I googled "jeep jk 5x5 wheels" and just went from there...once I figured out what I wanted, Cragar Soft 8s, I looked and looked till I found the cheapest price I could, which happened to be from Jegs...Tires were on nation wide back order and Just happened to find 4 locally for a good deal so i jumped on it.

Took me a year to get the wheels and tires I wanted. I changed my mind so many times I was getting dizzy.

First I wanted 35’s but then after reading here and other forums I decided that since I have the Sahara with an auto and it’s my DD the 35’s would add a lot of work and cost to mod other things that out need to be done. You know, gears, gussets on the axle, rear bumper and tire carrier and so on. So then I decided that 33’s were going to be the best size for me ( I have no will to make the jeep higher, I’m getting to old and fat for that).
Now I had the overall size figured out I needed to know what tire. I knew I wanted something that rides well on the road, will work good in trails and works great in snow. I settled on the goodyear duratrac.
I then moved on to wheels. I wanted black.
So I had the tire brand and model and the color of the wheel, just needed the overall combo figured out. This is where I flip flopped the most.
Going with 17’s this is the most money, 16’s would be less and 15’s would be the cheapest.
17’s would give me the most wheel options though where as 15’s would be the least.
In the end I found a wheel in 15’s that I love and went with that. I got the tire size and type that I wanted, the wheel that I liked and was able to save a bunch of money that I have now used on other mods. I also got them local for Discount Tire. Got to love their tire replacement warranty.

I start with the size, style and color(chrome or black) I want. Then I look at the brand and quality. Price is the last thing. I want a wheel that is made with the right spacing and width to fit the needs.

Man, so many great pieces of advice - thanks all.

That happened to me with fenders, then bumpers, etc ... sometimes I get paralyzed by not knowing enough and then I can't make a decision. Took me a year to get a lift and tires because I didn't want to make the "wrong" choice. At least in this case, the choice is mostly looks and not a technical issue. I could always mess up the backspacing/offset I suppose.

I have my eye on a pair of beadlocks but as you said, the expense may keep me away. I need to read a little more on the maintenance and cons of beadlocks going forward. This is my DD but I do offroad a bit and I plan on doing more with a big trip here and there. I could probably take advantage of the beadlocks but it won't be regularly.

I have the 2011 deep cherry red rubi and with the black front and rear bumpers, the rattlecan'd fenders and rock rails - I know I am going with mostly/all black wheels. I'm leaning towards one of these two. (first faux, second beadlock)

Got mine from coppell. Discount tire for the tires themselves for nationwide tire coverage if there are any issues.

They price matched 4 wheel drive hardware on the tires.
I usually use Ryan from 4WP in Ft. Worth (now in Coppell) but they don't have the biggest selection on their site and I was trying to see what else was out there. I will probably research the ATX stuff and see if they will march the lowest price I can find.

DT/DTD dont seem to carry the ATX stuff but I will keep looking, I'm in no hurry!

4 wheel parts in coppell or 4 wheel drive hardware carried most everything. Not all is listed on their website.

I looked at everything, and found an online site that had a program where you could install different rims on your vehicle. Picked make model and color. Was nice to get a good idea of how they would look. I used that to decide which ones I wanted, then found the best price including shipping.

Yep 4wd carries most stuff ... I'm just stuck on the shopping part.

Man I like the AEV bead locks that are on CL Houston but I'm not going down there to pick'em up. Maybe I have to get the ATX slabs anyway!
