I know exactly how you feel. It always shocks me a bit when the "where can I mount my gun" threads come up. Kinda "dangerous"!!

To you USA'ers...seriously, do you like live in dangerous areas or need to be in a constant state of defense? I have a shotgun locked up at home in case zombies start to roam the land, but other than that, I don't get it.

I enjoy living where the would be thieves/thugs have it in the back of their head that they just might get their a$$ shot off. Even those road rage fools that wanna pull off the road in front of you and act foolish and come walkin back to your car. 3-4 months ago that happen here, guy got shot/killed for tryin to be a tough guy, serves him right.

It's not that tough, GUN,, upside down,, barrel pointing to rear of jeep, handle pointing front of jeep, put it between E-brake handle and console, go get your gun and sit in your jeep and place it there and check it out.

Funny thing is they don't know.

Here in the US its a right, and a privilege. Crime really isn't that bad depending on where you reside, but the one thing that remains is the possibility for the unexpected.

Anytime my chick goes out alone at night, to meet with the girls or go do other girly stuff. She can't get out the door without me double checking she has good old reliable in her bag. If that sounds funny to you, then call me crazy.

How about when you head to the trails or out on a hunting trip? Shotgun does no good in the closet out there

I was mostly relating to the quote "better to have it and not need it, than to need it not have it"

I've been in Cornwall Ontario, i know they have a problem with smuggeling and guns there with the reservation. They actualy found a guy dead next to my hotel. The big view here is there is allot of random crime because the "bad guys" can get guns and the cops arent everywhere.

In Cornwall they didnt have the robberies and thefts and car jackings because their "organized crime" doesnt petty themselves with that. Here on the other hand thugs will do what ever is easy and quick.

Back on topic that is an awesome mount, i wonder how well it would be in our jeep though. The 4runner has allot more legroom under the dash.

Gun pointed towards passengers?! Tim, I can only imagine if you ever had to pull/use that firearm in the heat of the moment...you should have the handle closest to you! Do you carry hot?

The gun is pointed down the steering column not at the passenger...
