Default How is this lift/tire setup?

First Hello All-

New to the forum. I purchased a 07 Black Sahara 4 Door JK (Hardtop | Auto) about a month ago and I have been saving/planning on the lift tires etc. Locally we only have a couple of shops in Oklahoma City, and both of them have recommended the 4" Skyjacker lift. Which seems to be a debated lift on the forum.

I had a 4" Superlift on my TJ and loved it, but that is not much of an option.

The set up they priced for me was:

35x12.50x17 Trxus
4" Skyjacker with pitman arm
17 inch Moto Metal (Chrome)

$3,075.00 Out the door (that includes install and alignment)

So that all said. I have a couple of questions?

1. Am I better to wait on availability of other lifts?

2. Is the price where it should be?

3. Any different setups that would be better? I do like to get off-road but it is my DD.

Thanks in Advance!

I wouldnt go with skyjacker.........their "joints" are noisy and wear out quickly and their shocks are shitty.......Which truxus are you talking about? The MT or the STS?

They are the MT's....so it seems I should hold off....atleast until others are available locally. I don't think I am quite ready to attempt an install on my own.

Also...one of the local places is a "4 wheel parts".....i assumed since they own (I believe) Pro Comp, that they would have that lift available, but they said they did not stock it yet.

You can order other lifts online if your local store doesnt carry them........but you should be able to get pretty much anything at 4 wheel parts, since the owners of them own 4wd hardware as well..........so other lifts like Full Traction, Teraflex, Superlift, and Rubicon Express can be ordered through 4 wheel parts. Search this site, there is alot of information on various types of lifts for different purposes.

Yeah that was my assumption, but the impression I got was that they (locally) were only putting on the Skyjacker at this point. I may just have to press the issue.

If I find a kit I want, based on the info on this site etc...Would 4 Wheel Parts install it if I did not purchase if from them?

Not sure if 4 wheel parts would install if it wasnt purchased from them.......but you can get almost anything through them so that shouldnt be a problem
