How many of you installed your own lift
I'm in the same boat as the others and have good mechanical skills and it took me close to 10 hrs taking my time and making sure everything was clean and aligned right when I put my RockKrawler 3.5" X-Factor on. I took a few small breaks but it would have still taken about 8 hrs to do it all correctly and it's a ton of fun to do it yourself. I say go for it.
Also like the others have said, a very good toolbox and equipment help.

I'm a professional mechanic so tools are defiantly not an issue. I was just curious how long it took the average Joe to do. I don't have a jk yet. I'm waiting until my current car is paid for. I'm thinking me and a guy I work with could have a bolt on long arm done in a few hours.
I've done two BB lifts and my current 4" lift in the garage with floor jack and two jack stands. BB lifts only take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending which set up. The 4" took prob 5-6 hours. Would have been less if pitman arm wouldn't have been such a biotch to pull.
On my previous '08 JKU, I installed a 2.5" TF coil lift with the Monster Front adj track bar. Took me 3.5-4hrs in my drive way. These tools help made it easy to install:
-3.5 ton floor jack
-6 ton jack stands
-Air compressor w/impact gun & air wrench
-assorted metric and standard sockets/wrenches

Exactly what he said. Did it in my garage with some makeshift tools since my tool supply isnt the greatest. Watched my bro put his on his 07. Put my friends XJ lift then my lift. All in the garage with cinderblocks jackstands and floor jacks.
I did mine in my garage in about 5.5-6 hours with 2 jack stands and a floor jack. I took my sweet time as it was the first time I did suspension work. I've rebuilt engines, replaced brake rotors and other interior stuff, just never suspension. I think I could do it over in about 4 hours or less
I did mine in around 6 hours and that included installing the lift and bumper... I did the back on a Friday night by myself and the front and bumper on Saturday morning with my son. I had 2 jacks, jackstands, air tools and a torque wrench. I didn't even have to loosen the lower control arms to drop the coils. It was fairly simple... the key is to have all of the required sockets and wrenches available. The bumper was the toughest thing to install.
